Eternal Presence

There arose a moment
When I knew
Beyond a shadow of a doubt
That love was not
What I had believed it to be

Freed from the illusion
Of “me” and “mine”
And all such limitations
I knelt with devotion
And asked to be love’s servant

I asked her to teach me
& She whispered,
“I cannot be grasped
Or contained
Or owned

I am too vast
To conform
To your beliefs
I dance only
To my own song

So let go of the one
Who is holding on
And let the sweetness
Of being without a self
Blossom within you.”

And before she disappeared
Into the emptiness
She handed me the key
To true love
And asked me to unlock the gate

Upon turning the key
The door swung wide open
Into spaciousness
And here I discovered
That when love’s form dissolves

Her presence is still palpable
Everywhere
For the irrevocable truth
Is that even while forms
Change & disappear
Love remains
Eternally present
As the beauty
That saturates
Everything
