The Great Intimacy is an homage to the intimate relationship between the transcendent and human elements of experience. Our human experience, with its whole spectrum of colors and forms, interweaves continuously with that which is eternal and unchanging. In this great intimacy, love is expressed through the body & mind, and is mirrored back to us by life itself. The infinite expresses itself through the finite, which in turn merges back into the infinite.

In The Great Intimacy, Sujatha’s flute, piano, & vocals interweave with sitar & oud by Alexander Karvelas a.k.a. dros, and Christopher Krotky’s percussion. The album was produced by Christopher Krotky. The album cover art was painted by Rob McRae.

This album is dedicated to my mentor, Paula Robison, who taught me to follow the joyful flow of the creative impulse, to push the boundaries of musical convention, and to re-imagine what is artistically possible.
